All right, so I went fishing at Lake Texumba this weekend. That's going to be coming up in today's episode as well as we fried some up for Mother's Day. Did you have some of that fish?
SPEAKER_00No, I did not.
SPEAKER_02But we'll talk about what she had. We did have a little Mother's Day cook here, uh, some sirloin steak tonight. Uh we'll see how that turned out. What do you think of that? That was pretty darn good.
SPEAKER_00But you know, I like steakety steak.
SPEAKER_02She does every episode talk about steak it seems like. So we got that coming up also. Don't uh we'll remind you about our coffee talk live that I do in the mornings. A little bit of uh listener comments as well. We got all that coming up in this great episode right here, the Okie Smoking Podcast.
SPEAKER_03Time to fire up that grill. From smoke pork to smash burger, outdoor cooking just tastes better. This is the Okie Smoking Podcast. And here's your host, John Barry.
SPEAKER_02But first, let's talk real quick about last week. So if you missed last week's episode, episode 60, uh, you can go ahead and find it on your uh favorite podcast app. We talked about low-fat chicken cooks um and how we went ahead and made the uh chicken so that it's low fat, it's healthy, low uh that's pretty low carb as well, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, low carb, low fat.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't think there was much carbs in that at all.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so it basically we used uh instead of oil.
SPEAKER_00Because I think that dressing was what, like two carbs per tablespoon?
SPEAKER_02Just used some Italian dressing, seasoned it up, cooked it on the uh uh what we cooked that on the pit boss or the big green egg. I can't remember.
SPEAKER_00I don't know why you cooked that. No, you cooked it on the big green egg.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, on the big green egg.
SPEAKER_00Because you had to fold the little foil thingies, remember?
SPEAKER_02Right. And you know, just healthier barbecue and also had great flavor, great moisture.
SPEAKER_00At first I thought he was crazy because he was folding those foil pieces. I was like, why are you doing the pink pieces? You said you'll see, you'll see.
SPEAKER_02Had to fold the corners of them in to get it inside that little Minimax big green egg. Also, on our last episode, we had a listener from Oregon ask Dolores, have you ever made homemade pork skins?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I'm still waiting. So that's something that'll be it was supposed to be this weekend too, but you went on your trip.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I went on a trip. So something we'll be doing here. Well, I said within a month, you know. So give us a little time.
SPEAKER_00It's been within a month.
SPEAKER_02We're gonna be trying that. But if you wanted to listen to more of that episode 60, check it out on your favorite podcast app, Spotify, Apple, and much more. But let's go ahead and jump into today's episode. Uh we went ahead and uh or I went ahead and went on a Lake Texoma fishing trip. Uh, this will be the fourth time that I've done it. We go out there, we get a fishing guide. Um, the fishing guide we use this time, his name was was Anthony. Uh we had six of us. You go out there, we get a little place a Friday night, uh, we set up shop there and uh sleep, and we basically can walk straight to the boat dock at 6 a.m. and we go ahead and get back.
SPEAKER_00So you guys just walk there?
SPEAKER_02Yes. There is that cliffs, huh? Yeah, it's within walking distance. It's just right down the hill. Now they do. We usually have a pickup because we take an ice chest with us, and a pickup goes ahead and rolls that ice chest on down there so you don't have to carry it because it's full of drink.
SPEAKER_00Doesn't it have wheels on your ice chest?
SPEAKER_02Uh no, the one they take is just a pretty good size ice chest.
SPEAKER_00I was like, what?
SPEAKER_02But it's still it's it's a distance to carry that. We pretty much take some bottles of water, I think a couple of sodas, things like that on the boat. And it's it's a it's a great time. We go down there, we got there about six o'clock, had to wait on the guide. He got there a little bit later. He's out getting the bait, and uh, you know, they use shad, and we we pretty much go out there and have it have an awesome, awesome time. We ought to do it, you know, one time, it just does as well. Um, I think you would enjoy it. I think you would, I'm not not too sure. Would you go out to the lake for about four or five hours out on a boat?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean I grew up on a boat basically, remember? Yes, I definitely had a boat, we always went out on it.
SPEAKER_02You'd probably have a good time doing it. We did we caught about thirty, thirty-five fish, I think. Um we go out there striper fishing and uh and I'm not afraid of fishies either. Yeah, and we we caught some some some good sized fish. These are some of the biggest uh stripers that I believe we've caught.
SPEAKER_00Um I just can't bait it. Ooh.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. See, the guide does all that for you.
SPEAKER_00If we had to do worms, ooh. I just I tried, remember?
SPEAKER_02It's just the feel of the worm. Ooh. You don't want the slithery sliminess coming up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's just like when you poke it, it just fattens, it just grows.
SPEAKER_02Just wiggling all up on you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. I just can't do that.
SPEAKER_02This is done with shad, and and you really don't have to worry about any of that for the guide. And that's pretty cool. You just take your empty hook, you just float it over to him. He goes ahead and baits it for you. You go over there and you go ahead and drop it down. If you've never been fishing uh with a guide, it is a really good experience.
SPEAKER_00What do you mean you drop it down, you just you don't cast it?
SPEAKER_02No, you don't have to cast it because you're out in the in the lake and you're above where the fish are.
SPEAKER_00At least to still cast it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, you don't even on a boat. No, you all you have to do here is he will tell you where the fish are. So you may he may tell you to cast it all the way to the bottom until it stops, and then do say two or three turns up, and then that's where the fish will be if they're close to the bottom. There's other times to where they may only be partially down there, and he will tell you you need to go like 17 or 18 uh 18 down. So you take the line and you just go, you you move it one segment, you know, between in between uh the the reels, you just go ahead and move the the deal 17, so you're going 17.
SPEAKER_00Damn it.
SPEAKER_02So you count one and then you move the line two, three, and you get to like 17 or 18. And then that's where the fish are gonna be to bite. So depending on where the fish are, because they've got the the uh sonar scope or or whatever it's called, and they go ahead and can tell you exactly where the fish are.
SPEAKER_00I probably won't catch any fish because I'd be like one, what did I do? Two.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you if you lose counts, you might have to start over. It's easier whenever they're closer to the bottom, you drop it all the way to the bottom, and then you just go ahead and raise it up like two or three, two or three turns.
SPEAKER_00So you don't have to you don't have to keep on dropping it in if you didn't want to, until you until he's if he said that it's at the bottom, then you could do the bottom. Or does everybody just drop it in when he says to?
SPEAKER_02Well you all want to put the put it in when you stop, because you stop, and you all put your pose in at that point. So depending on on where the fish is. And there was one situation to where he was like, This is it, this is it. Get your pose in, get your pose in. Drop them now, you should get bites instantly. Um and then he said, if you're not getting a bite, your your your bait is either gone or dead. And then I'd checked mine and I didn't have no bait on mine. So I think I'd gotten a bite because that they'll steal them from time to time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh but that yeah, we we got down there and in that spot when you can when you brought your line down, you got a bite in less than 60 seconds. We had four poles at one time, all with a fish on. There was a time when we he was bringing them in because the guide will have the net and he'll go out there and get the fish, and then he'll bring them in the boat, and there was literally like five of them on the floor of the boat wobbling around while he's sitting there trying to uh get them into the uh on the ice where he's got a a chest in the back that he that he keeps them on.
SPEAKER_00So basically you should wear like old clothes, basically, like shoes.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean I don't know. I mean you want to dress appropriately.
SPEAKER_00Have you ever thought about wearing like uh water shoes?
SPEAKER_02No, because we're not we're not getting wet. You're getting in the boat. The fish come on the boat, but they're not bringing water in with you. You're still in a dry boat. Yeah, but you're stepping on the Well, I mean, you you know, you might want to dress or you know, you I just wore shorts and my regular shoes, but I did like to wear a long sleeve uh shirt so I didn't get burnt. You want to make sure you have your sunscreen, that's an important thing. Make sure you get on your ears, your neck, your legs, your arms if you have those exposed.
SPEAKER_00And yeah, you're lucky me, I packed your stuff.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And nobody else had sunscreen, so I I was able to provide the wife thinks of everything and you're like they're lucky. Yeah, so but yeah, that time that we hit that spot to where even Howard didn't have sunscreen? No.
SPEAKER_00Oh my goodness. You need to tell him that I'm very disappointed in him.
SPEAKER_02Oh well, I'll I'll have him listen to this episode.
SPEAKER_00Disappointed.
SPEAKER_02Um but uh after we got to that area, it was short-lived. And we caught I I want to say about 18 fish in like 15 minutes. I mean, it was just insane. And then I think we caught like 22 fish probably in 30 minutes, and then it died out, and then we didn't catch a fish for like an hour. Uh, but it was on a Saturday, and it is hard to uh maintain that on a Saturday because there were so many people on the lake.
SPEAKER_00So you get to a nice hotend, so I could see that.
SPEAKER_02You get to your spot to fish, and then boats would fly by at like sixty miles an hour on both sides. And from what I understand, that disrupts the fish. Well yeah, you know, you have them all under you, they kind of go skedaddle and and it ruins it. Then you gotta see if they'll come back, and you might get one or two that do, but we never got the same uh area or the same experience of fish that we did right at that point. And it probably took 45 minutes to an hour to get those that first burst of fish, and I think we may have caught one before then, but it wasn't very many. And these were all decent sized fish, too. These were some really, really good looking big fish. They were we we've done this four years and had never caught any of the size we were catching right there. And then the rest of the trip we've never caught. Well, we did it. We caught some big ones we had to throw back, actually, because you can only have two over 20 inches per person, and then they have to be under 20 inches. So we actually caught more than that, but we could not keep them and had to actually toss them.
SPEAKER_00So does he toss them back for you?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he can or you can.
SPEAKER_00Because I know you have to take off of the hook.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he he he removes them from the hook for you. Uh you know, sometimes you might want to take a picture with it first or something, give it a kiss, that kind of thing. You know.
SPEAKER_00Well, did you kiss it?
SPEAKER_02No, but you can. I mean, I should have. You know, you get you a little kiss of the fish.
SPEAKER_00That's gross. Who kisses a fish?
SPEAKER_02Uh but yeah, you can you you can do all that, and then yeah, it it's good stuff. And then after that, we we he moved us around to several different locations, and we would catch a couple of fish here and a couple of fish there, and then we were about to to quit, and we hit one final spot to where anybody catch any small ones? Yes. And we did hit one final spot to where we uh uh caught like another six or so, six or eight, and it really kind of brought the totals up a little bit. But you say did anybody catch a small one? So I look like I had the biggest fish. I caught the biggest fish, in my opinion. But there's another one that may have been bigger, but we had to throw it back because we were over the the the inches, we were able to keep mine. Um so his we weren't able to keep, so we couldn't compare they were real, real close. But likewise I caught the smallest fish.
SPEAKER_00Well, who was the the other big fish?
SPEAKER_02Uh David. Yeah. So he had he had another one that was a pretty good size as well. Yeah, so but had a great time out there, did that. We caught all those fish. We got we got those back to shore about.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and then you guys had a fish fry, and you went live on that one.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00So what happened um being live on the boat?
SPEAKER_02Okay, so I did try doing a live on the boat and I could not get the live to work.
SPEAKER_00Um Is it because you're out out that way? Well, like the internet was kind of thick.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and it out by the by the lake in general didn't have very great because even when I got back to our ha uh place we were staying, I tried to go live and it quit. Um it wouldn't work.
SPEAKER_00Did you try your new stuff that you bought?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I do have a a new setup or a thing you can put around your neck so that you can put the phone on and you can walk around and you can see everything. And my intention was to have that set up so that you could see the pole in front of me while I'm fishing, and you would be able to see when I caught a fish, you'd be able to see me pull it in live. And I could have, but I didn't. I actually just done some recorded ones like that and had some record of it that way, but I didn't, but I couldn't ever get that to work. Um and then when I got back, after we got back, got back to the room to cook, I couldn't get it to work. So it was that area that was the problem. However, I said we probably have a Wi-Fi where we're staying, and I found the Wi-Fi information, hooked the Wi-Fi up at our mobile home that we had rented as an Airbnb. And then it started I was able to do the live there. So that's how I was able to do the cooking live. If I would have not had the Wi-Fi.
SPEAKER_00I know it's crazy. I was like, I wonder if he's live. And I was like, I'm gonna check. And and I was like, hey, he is, he's actually on here.
SPEAKER_02It was just a like a win, like right, and and and it turned out great, had a nice little time r uh filming that. And all the time. Right.
SPEAKER_00The fish looked really good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. All we did was we went ahead and uh seasoned it up first. We went ahead and removed there's a little blood line that was in there, and we went ahead and used a fillet knife and removed that out of it because that will help reduce the the fishy taste or the the uh taste that may not be as pleasant.
SPEAKER_00I mean, not like fishy taste.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and this didn't have a fishy taste once we did that. After we remove that, I like to soak it in some water and salt and just let that soak up for a bit, and that also brings out some of the blood flavor, some of the fishy flavor or taste. And then after that, we just use some Louisiana seasoning after we uh removed it from the water, left it wet, put that on it, heated up some grease. It looked good, heated up some oil, pinola oil, and then just cooked it until they're done. And they turned out crisp, they turned out fantastic. Real good stuff.
SPEAKER_00I could tell because you were eating it like crazy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It was hard to stop eating it.
SPEAKER_00Um So did you guys eat it all?
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00Wow, yeah, that was a lot of fish. We cooked a pretty good batch and we And then you guys ordered pizza that night?
SPEAKER_02Yes. Um so yeah, we had we had uh several different um uh things. I think someone got a burger and a couple got a pizza or whatever, but yeah, we we did have some uh uh dinner from the restaurant as well. So it's a good time. And then uh, you know, played some poker. I lost uh I I put five bucks in. I lost five bucks in poker. Uh didn't we don't play for heavy money or nothing, but had a pretty good time there. That is the Texoma fishing trip. We'll do it again May of next year, probably.
SPEAKER_00Uh it's always during Mother's Day weekend. You guys always have a lot of people.
SPEAKER_02It's usually right around there, yeah. So good stuff, good fish, and everybody seemed to really enjoy it.
SPEAKER_00And then when you got home, you you did a fish fry for Mother's Day, but it's Tara and Ryan and stuff that came over for to eat that, and I did not eat it because I am trying to stick to my keto. But I offered I am, I am trying to stick to my keto and be good.
SPEAKER_02I did offer to to look up a way to make you a keto version, but you decided you didn't want to do it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I just thought so. I wanted a steak, and so I went to Crest, I went to Walmart, I went to Winco, and none of them had steak.
SPEAKER_02You had a steak shortage here.
SPEAKER_00It was like all gone, so everybody was kicking their mama some steak.
SPEAKER_02But you come up with the second best thing, or really, really as close to shrimp.
SPEAKER_00I did. And uh you made me the s uh slap yell mama, right?
SPEAKER_02Yep, I put some slap y'all mama seasoning in there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I ate half of the shrimp um Mother's Day, and then today for lunch I had shrimp.
SPEAKER_02So you had oh, so you eat.
SPEAKER_00I have like for lunch I made, yeah. So I got to eat that and then today he actually bought steak and I got to eat a steak. I ate two pieces of steak.
SPEAKER_02Yep. So we had we had that as well.
SPEAKER_00And that was really good. Whatever like that steak was, it was like tender.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. No, it it wasn't rough, like um, I was able to eat it and my teeth aren't the best, so sometimes I have trouble uh eating eating certain things. Uh this turned out tender. Uh what I did with this, this was just some sirloin, and I just went ahead and seasoned it up with some SPG seasoning. I put a layer of that on there from Sucklebusters. Um, I then put some of the uh jalapeno garlic.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, I love that stuff. You're gonna have to order some more.
SPEAKER_02From Grand Oaks, jalapeno garlic seasoning. Uh, added a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Nothing is going down, down.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's slowly going down. We have that with popcorn and table salt and everything else.
SPEAKER_00And when you were gone uh Saturday, I think it was for my dinner Saturday. I just ate popcorn.
SPEAKER_02Popcorn for dinner?
SPEAKER_00I did. I made it with the with the stuff. Yeah, I didn't gain no weight.
SPEAKER_02Well, there you go. Your little popcorn dinner. That's quite alright.
SPEAKER_00It is with that seasoning. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that that seasoning is.
SPEAKER_00I cannot resist popcorn lately, you guys. It's been so good.
SPEAKER_02Yep. And I I just left those sirloins because um I was I went ahead and also cooked some potatoes. I put a couple of potatoes on the pit bus. And I had it going at about 350 to 400 degrees.
SPEAKER_00They look soft.
SPEAKER_02For about 45 minutes. Yeah, they were. They turned out excellent and they were soft. And cooked.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you didn't have to cook it a lot long then, huh?
SPEAKER_02No, those were smaller.
SPEAKER_00Those were not full-size baked potatoes, so Well, how come you didn't buy the the rustic big potatoes?
SPEAKER_02Well I got those for fries more than anything.
SPEAKER_00Well, even those, like for fries, is he just has to use one. One of those big ones.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but that was just in a bag, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, those are in bags too, babe.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_00The ones that I buy, the big Yeah, I I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I didn't see any. I just got to Little Walmart.
SPEAKER_00The little Walmart has them.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, that's where I was at. I d I'm not sure. But uh I mean they turned out good. I mean they they they cooked up quick though because they were smaller.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um and then just went ahead and seared the steaks for about three to three, three, three minutes per side, I'd say. Three to four minutes per side. They had a nice little medium rare in the center.
SPEAKER_00Do it have the lines on it.
SPEAKER_02Yes. And uh had a nice little pink in the center.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that was good.
SPEAKER_02Had good flavor, were juicy.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, those were really good. Those sirloins were 17 bucks for four compared to crazy how much steaks. Like the ribey's were thirty bucks for one.
SPEAKER_00Like, why are they so high lately?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, beef is up there. Beef is up there. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00That's like my favorite.
SPEAKER_02Chicken and um and you have to start eating fish. Chicken and fish.
SPEAKER_00No, I love steak.
SPEAKER_02Um they do have that uh, you know, ground beef's gone up too, but they do have that ground beef and pork.
SPEAKER_00They'd go to like Sam's Club or like even Costco, see how much their steaks are.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's it's good it's gonna be up to separate it. It is going to be up there. Uh but yeah, so that's what we did. We had our steak tonight, we had our fish, a couple of really, really good cooks. Um but man, that fish was was was quite incredible. Oh yesterday we uh we did some hush puppies as well.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, you guys did do hush puppies and fries.
SPEAKER_02Hush puppies, fries, fish, fish and chips, you know.
SPEAKER_00I forgot that you guys did the fish and chips. But you didn't do the tartar sauces.
SPEAKER_02If we were in the uh UK it'd be called fish and chips.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02But uh yeah, I mean you still call it that here. I like I like that fish and chips, you know.
SPEAKER_00It's weird whenever I was younger and they would say you want some fish and chips, I'd be like, Why would I want chips? I want fries.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And they were like, Yes, it's fries. Um it indicates And then I remember asking my daddy, why don't they just say fries? It'd be easier.
SPEAKER_02Yes, that would be easier.
SPEAKER_00It is um like uh Didn't Long John Silvers call them fish and chips for a while.
SPEAKER_02Uh they might have. There are some places. And then they changed it. There are some places that on the menu would say fish and chips when you get the prize, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I wish I remembered where we went and what we and I had the fish and chips and oh my god. It was really good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it could have been Captain D's, too.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I forgot about that place.
SPEAKER_02Captain D's, possibly. That was real good.
SPEAKER_00I haven't been there in ages. Do they even have a Captain D's anymore?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I I don't know of one anywhere. I know they're they're bringing back along John Silvers again. They they built a brand new one just down the street.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, that one's been there though, babe. You didn't know that? After they that one off of Douglas is so gross, you guys. It's it's ca it has A and W with it.
SPEAKER_02It's like a hammer replaced with it, and it is Yeah, I can't recommend it just is bad. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I heard the new Long Johns is really good. We'll have to go there and try it one day.
SPEAKER_02Yep, probably.
SPEAKER_00We used to eat that a lot when we're dating, remember?
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. I always like Long Johns.
SPEAKER_00We used to go on our dates eight Long John silveries. And then when they put it with A and W, it's just it just was not the same.
SPEAKER_02Right. Would not be the same. But yeah, so that that that was our pretty much weekend, don't forget, uh, as I always say, in the morning time we got the coffee live. Um, so I'll be jumping on that.
SPEAKER_00Anyone ever see me in there?
SPEAKER_0238.
SPEAKER_00I have been in your live a couple of times.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, she she sometimes hops in the chat, yeah, plays in there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, while I'm still in bed, sees what's going on.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, kind of kind of listens in there. I will be in there drinking my alfawera coffee.
SPEAKER_00Um I like the F Weta coffee. Sorry.
SPEAKER_02Yes. She you tried, so tell them what you think of it.
SPEAKER_00It smells good too. It tastes really good. It doesn't taste like um like uh like Duncan or anything like that. It tastes way better.
SPEAKER_02It's way better than that for sure.
SPEAKER_00It tastes better than Starbucks, too.
SPEAKER_02It's uh and I got the espresso um, which uh because I have an espresso.
SPEAKER_00Did you know? Because you know I don't ever drink black coffee. And I drank it the other day and it tasted really good with that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Did you did you run it, you just ran it through like a uh like an Americano kind of like I did? Yeah. You just put a shot of espresso and then filled it with the hot water. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yes, that's all I did.
SPEAKER_02And it is good. And and I like I said, I got the espresso, they've got different blends.
SPEAKER_00But I do want to try it with uh heavy whipping cream and stuff, see how that tastes.
SPEAKER_02That'd be good. But you don't really need to use it as espresso. You can use it for regular coffee in a French press, you could use it for drip coffee or whatever. Um, but it it's really, really good and really smell is really good. It's got an excellent smell. Um, yeah, great flavor, strong, good stuff.
SPEAKER_00And you can also I don't even think it's that strong like that. Because you know how I am with strong coffee. It tastes really good though.
SPEAKER_02But if you would like to give it a try, you can check it out. I've actually got a code okie okay. That'll get you 15% off if you were wanting to try it. It's all I'm gonna be drinking in the mornings. It's the only coffee we're gonna be using. Um, and you can also go to okysmoking.com forward slash coffee. That's okysmoking.com slash coffee. Uh that should have that code embedded in there. Get you the discount if you do a one-time order or uh uh on their website if you don't see the code. Also, uh if it's not in there, just enter promo code Okie.
SPEAKER_00I also made it as an iced coffee too, and it tasted good.
SPEAKER_02So you've had several, you've had several of them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I think I had uh two today.
SPEAKER_02Wow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we've been using uh we've we've just had Dunkin' and it's a major upgrade. It's a major, major upgrade. And you think it's even better than we like a pike place coffee of the colour.
SPEAKER_00Oh, and I think it's even better than my Colombian uh There you go.
SPEAKER_02Premium coffee.
SPEAKER_00My one that I usually buy from Costco.
SPEAKER_02Yep. So it's better than that. Let me see if we got any comments that we want to go ahead and take a look at here. Um let's see what we got going on here. Let me take a look. We'll do some uh TikTok comments today. We usually do YT. Let me go ahead and pull this up here and see what's Why do you say YT instead of YouTube? Well, I'm so used to being on um TikTok, and if you you've got to like disguise what you're saying, and I forget, I'm on the podcast, so we don't have to worry about that.
SPEAKER_00Like, what is YT?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, YouTube. Uh yeah, you don't we don't have to worry about uh that on the podcast. So let's go ahead and pull up the comments here and see what we got going on. So I was looking and they had a uh so I did a video here on the TikTok. I did some chili, and this was from December the 6th of 2025. But I just got a comment on this video in the last nine hours, which it's it's always cool to see you get a comment on a video that's several months old or even a year old or something, and I always enjoy seeing that. But this was a post that I did. I said, Beans belong in chili. Watch the magic beans drop in.
SPEAKER_00I do like beans in chili.
SPEAKER_02Yep. I put these in there, and this guy, Ma uh Macostanzo, said get the green can. The campfire is the best. So I told him I'll give it a try to find that. I didn't have the green can, so he's talking about uh a different style of uh beans there that he likes in the chili.
SPEAKER_00I wish I could eat the the chili with beans in it because ooh, it tastes good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because with the keto chili, you can't have any beans. Yep, you don't get the beans in there.
SPEAKER_00And I miss beans, you guys. I love black beans and stuff. Ooh. Can't have any of that.
SPEAKER_02Also looking through some more of the comments. I put a little uh uh video up, a real short video showing a little bit of the boat moving, showing a picture of the fish that I caught and things. Got some comments on here. My earthy adventures, he said, nice. Uh looks like a great weekend. Fowl, hogs, and heifers says looks like a perfect uh day. Cora said, have a great time. And I gotta tell you, it's a great lake. Always enjoy uh fishing at that lake as well. Look at here are some more comments. That's Shirley Kreitz comment on the coffee. Now I didn't quite get this. So I showed this coffee going into the uh espresso machine. She said, Too much work for a great cup of Joe, and I love my coffee. Now, is there a lot of work in using our espresso machine?
SPEAKER_00Not really. Just it just grinds itself and then you put it in and press the button.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it grinds itself. You push a button, you go.
SPEAKER_00Maybe maybe she just likes to set it and forget it. You know what I'm talking about? Maybe just like a little cake cake curreg, you know, just you know, the the little You know, I loved I loved my curreg until we went to Mexico and this, oh my gosh. And then John bought it for me, and I was like, oh my gosh. After that, I've I've never went back to the Kerreg.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, once you use uh once you start really going premium coffee, once you really start doing your own beans.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And once you I am spoiled for sure.
SPEAKER_02You will notice, and maybe you're one that's like, and I have nothing against, I will drink a Dunkin' Donut coffee or whatever. Uh but once you drink the upper coffee and then you go back, it it it it just is.
